A LOT of people have asked me about pre-ordering the game and how they could give it a go… Guess what?
YOU CAN NOW PRE-ORDER TOWER OF GUNS!
Order now and get access to a “Hard Hat” early-development build of Tower of Gun! (But check the recommended specs first at the bottom of the page to see if your machine can handle it!)
DISCLAIMER 1: Tower of Guns is NOT complete. But pre-ordering gets you access to the “Hard Hat” version, which is the build I send to playtesters and use to promote the game (at conferences and such). It’s a snapshot of the game at this level of completion:
I’m always adding new stuff to the “Hard Hat Build”, and you can see a breakdown of its current contents here. (Or in the “Dev Update” menu in the build itself). But fair warning: its not the complete experience quite yet.
DISCLAIMER 2: This is a development build. There are bugs. It’s NOT THE FULL GAME. Things will change/evolve/be-cut/be-added/be-fixed/be-broken/be-fixed-again (hopefully). It’s FAR from complete, but it’s a true window into the game’s development.
DISCLAIMER 3: Tower of Guns is the kind of game that’s more fun the more surprises there are for you. That said, if you want the “full ToG experience”, you might want to wait until the bar above reaches 70-80% complete or so before you try it. It’ll be more fun for you then.
Recommended Specs: (Note, these are not MIN specs. You maybe could run the game on worse machines than this…but I haven’t optimized much of the game and can’t promise a smooth experience)
- Win VISTA/7
- 2.4 GHz Quad Core
- 3 gb RAM
- A couple of gb free HDspace
- NVidia Geforce 275 GTX +512mb memory (I haven’t tried many ATI cards yet, but in theory an equivalent should be fine). I’ve tested on the older GeForce 8800 and 9800 series cards, and its performed “ok”,but not optimal.
- DirectX 9 or above
There have been reports that some intel-integratedGFX+win8 combinations will refuse to run the game. I haven’t had time to investigate this thoroughly yet, but I don’t want to take people’s money if they can’t play the game, so it felt prudent to put this disclaimer here!
